Sky Q — Product launch

Head of Design, Online Sales / Art Director
2016

Background

In 2016 Sky introduced a brand new multimedia platform to sell alongside Sky+. This was the UK’s biggest tech launch to date.

Working closely with Marketing, Technology and several external agencies, I led and art directed the design of the online promotion and sales site, ensuring this high profile project was delivered on brand and on time.

Approach

We created a new set of interactive product pages to inform and excite customers about Sky Q and all its features. This included a new configurable product selection page, making it easy for customers to choose between TV, Broadband and Talk options. We also weaved Sky Q messaging in to the existing sales journey and navigation. All pages were fully personalised with relevant information for each user segment.

Result

After a lot of hard work with constantly changing requirements and goal posts, we successfully launched Sky Q in two stages. Phase one to stimulate excitement and allowing customers to pre-register, phase two revealing the full product, letting customers buy and upgrade. I subsequently redesigned the Bundles pages resulting in a 24% sales increase. Over the next two years 2.5 million Sky Q boxes were sold.
